Assumptions for every figure on this page. Microsoft list prices, before tax, as of 22 September 2026, which change without notice. USD figures are for the US East Azure region. CAD figures are for the Canada Central region at Microsoft's Canadian list, which runs about 1.54 times the US East USD price for capacity and about 1.36 times for per-person licences. Capacity figures assume the capacity runs all month. Prices through a reseller differ from list, so we confirm current pricing before any quote.

A reservation saves about 40 percent but bills for the full year whether the capacity runs or not, while pay-as-you-go can be paused when not in use. Other sizes and the full derivation are in the pricing reference.
Savings from licences you already hold
- People on Microsoft 365 E5 or Office 365 E5 already have Pro and cost nothing extra for it.
- Those same people, and anyone who already holds Pro, move to PPU at the add-on price.
We count these before pricing anything.
When capacity costs less than per-person licences
Pro for viewers, or F64 with free viewing. Your publishers hold Pro either way, so only the viewers who do not already have a licence change the answer.

Pro is cheaper below those counts and F64 above them. The comparison assumes F64 is large enough for your workload, which we confirm by measurement before recommending it.
PPU for everyone, or F64 plus Pro for publishers. Because every person who opens content hosted in a PPU workspace needs PPU, the whole audience is on the PPU side, while publishers' Pro licences are on the capacity side.

Assumes no existing Pro, PPU, or E5 licences and a one-year F64 reservation. Also assumes both options can run your data: PPU handles datasets to 100 GB and F64 handles 25 GB, so a larger dataset needs a larger capacity and changes the numbers.

Pro is unavailable in the second case because imported models exceed 1 GB, and neither capacity is established as sufficient until we measure peak memory and load.
